Main Focus on Program

The program is appropriated for female teens requiring long-term placement in a community-based residential home. The goal is to interrupt the pattern of consecutive placement for youths in foster care. Our program has found that providing a stable placement for the youths will end the traumatic effects resulting from continuous moves, and enhance the youth’s ability to form healthy/stable attachments

Philosophy

Heidi House believes that every youth deserves a permanent place to call home. A home in which roots can be planted, a sense of security is nurtured and family relationships stem. We believe that the resident/staff relationship is the soul of the helping process. Every resident/staff interaction, regardless of purpose or duration, has therapeutic potentiality that must be consistently recognized and utilized. An emotional climate of warmth, acceptance, friendliness and optimism is clearly the cornerstone of mutual respect and an effective helping relationship.

Mission

Heidi House mission is to provide a therapeutic milieu where each girl is valued and accepted as she is, and where encouragement remains an essential key to (a) assisting her in the development of her capacities and potentials, (b) enhancing her ability to manage the challenges and opportunities of daily living, and (c) providing her with a solid foundation for successful independence.

Vision

To have a common wealth in which individuals have access to high quality residential care that enables her to be the best that she can be.
